Your solar energy system design and installation professionals

Our story

Peninsula Solar began in 2021 by Henry and Anton Krull, as a father-son team. We formed Peninsula Solar in order to organize our efforts to provide renewable energy systems to our own homes and businesses, including a very lofty project for our Whistle Hill development.  Word spread that we were doing solar design and installation, so we decided to continue efforts to design and install renewable energy systems for other residences and local businesses.

In 2022, with collaboration from local installer Steve Groves of SkyPower Alaska, we completed one rooftop home solar array, and outfitted two medical office buildings in Soldotna.  We also completed the ambitious “Electrify Whistle Hill Phase 1” project, a 96kW ground mount system featuring 224 solar panels and a 150kWh battery backup system. This system, designed to produce 100% of the electricity needs for the fresh365 hydroponic farm container, went online in December 2022. Despite a snowy start, it began significant production by mid-February 2023. It is the largest solar array on the Peninsula.

There was no rest, and in early 2023, we worked feverishly on design for “Electrify Whistle Hill, Phase 2”, a 200kW expansion, adding 375 more solar panels, and an additional 450 kWh of battery storage and backup that, when completed in summer 2024 will meet ALL of the electricity needs for ALL of the Whistle Hill businesses.  As the solar farm has grown, so has the interest.  We are currently working on another 6-8 roof top and ground mount projects for 2024.

At Peninsula Solar, we specialize in residential and small business solar installations, committed to providing sustainable energy solutions across the region.
